I'm Matthew — a topline writer and vocalist based in the UK, specialising in electronic music. I've been writing hooks for producers across House, DNB, Techno and EDM for over five years. My work has appeared on releases through labels including Toolroom, Anjunabeats and Hospital Records, with placements on Beatport's Top 100 and editorial playlists on Spotify and Apple Music.

The way I approach a topline is simple: the melody has to earn its place. It should feel inevitable — like it was always supposed to sit on top of that chord sequence. I work closely with the production to find something that pushes the track forward rather than just decorating it. Every topline I write is tested against a beat before it leaves my desk.

Most producers come to me through the shop — browsing pre-written toplines and licensing what fits their project. If nothing quite clicks, I also take custom commissions: you send me the beat, BPM, key and a rough brief, and I come back with something built specifically for your record. Turnaround is typically three to five working days for a custom topline.
