I'm Matthew, a topline writer and vocalist based in Manchester, UK on a journey to put real human emotion back into dance music. I specialise in house, techno and EDM. Over ten years I've written and recorded vocals for producers and labels across the world, building a catalogue that has reached over ten million streams. My work has been signed to Sony, BitBird, Beyond and Enhanced with credits alongside some of the most respected names in the genre.

The way I approach a topline is simple: the melody has to feel inevitable. Like it was always supposed to sit on top of that chord sequence and you just hadn't heard it yet. I work closely with the production, finding the right pocket for the emotional direction it's already moving in. Lyrically, I'm always looking to enhance the feeling of the instrumental through techniques I've learned working with songs in different genres every single day.

Most producers come to me through the shop, browsing pre-written toplines and licensing what fits their project. I also take custom commissions. Just send me your track, BPM, key and a rough brief and I'll come back with something built specifically for your record. Turnaround on custom work is typically 3–5 working days.
